OVERVIEW
The Heat Stress and Drying Safety Checklist provides a structured way to document important safety steps during pet drying. It is an attachment to SOP 2.12: Heat Stress and Drying Safety Procedure and is intended to be used alongside the related drying and injury-response procedures.
The checklist covers preparation, equipment inspection, drying conditions, airflow, monitoring, breaks, brushing and combing, and decisions to modify or stop drying when unsafe. It also provides a separate Heat Concern Response section for documenting actions taken when a drying or heat concern occurs.

IMPLEMENTATION NOTES
Use this checklist with SOP 2.12: Heat Stress and Drying Safety Procedure and SOP 1.06: Drying Procedure and Safety Standards. Complete the drying safety checks during the drying process and document relevant actions with initials and notes. If a heat stress or drying concern occurs, use the Heat Concern Response section and follow SOP 2.07: Injury Response and Client Notification Procedure. Complete the Incident Report Form when needed and update notes for the next appointment.
